Home

These are some pictures from our December Luncheon followed by our regular meeting at the Highland Center.  The Ladies Auxiliary presented gifts to the Volunteers of America servers and cooks.

This past weekend the Volunteers of American in conjunction with the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center had a dedication and ribbon cutting to open The Veterans Transitional Living Program for the Homeless veterans in our area. Louisiana has the second-highest rate of homeless veterans in the nation at 3.28 percent, the VOA says."In Northwest Louisiana a 2009 point- in- time survey counted 173 homeless veterans, more than half of whom had been homeless for longer than three months, many of them struggle with substance abuse, or other mental illnesses. The facility will house up to 56 people seeking transition.

Chapter 351 donated $500.00 to help with veteran needs.
