On 15Nov09 at 1400 the Inaugural Induction Ceremony of the Louisiana Military Hall of Fame and Museum ,  honored Captain Steven L. Bennett, Colonel Jefferson J. DeBlanc, Cdr Howard Walker Gilmore and MSgt Homer L. Wise, all Medal of Honor recipients.   Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Jardenne, Louisiana Secretary of Veteran Affairs Lane Carson, along with BGen Bob LeBlanc US ARMY (Ret), BGen Peyton Cole, USAF (Ret) participated in the opening ceremonies.  Colonel Johnny Raymond was the announcer for this event today.  He introduced all of the Board Members present and thanked them for their effort in making this day come though. He gave a special thanks to Paula Finley for keeping the board focused.  The grounds at the Chris Crusta Airport, Abbeville. LA was opened at 11:00 am for the public.  There were concessions available.  Flyovers, parachute jumps and musical entertainment.  Phase 1 of the museum was open for visitors including the Hall of Fame Memorial area featuring the four inductees. The Louisiana Department Commander Richard Garner, MOPH, Chapter Commanders Ron Chatelain, Jesse Campos, Danny Brown, National Aide de Camp Ken Bourgeois and several other Patriots were present.  The Marine Corps League had a good showing of the local area detachment. The OIF/OEF Advocate from the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center Shreveport LA, Keith Fontenot was also in attendance.
