VETERAN PARADE IN BOSSIER PARISH
NOVEMBER 2009

 A LARGE GATHERING OF VETERAN ORGANIZATIONS IN THE SHREVEPORT/BOSSIER CITY AREA GATHERED AT THE BOSSIER CITY COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR THE KICK OFF OF THE VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION. THE GRAND MARSHAL OF THE PARADE WAS COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR GARY LITTRELL, CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPENT FROM VIETNAM. THE FOLKS PARTICIPATING WERE WW II, KOREA, RVN, GULF WAR, OIF/OE, LADIES AUXILLIARIES, SOLDIERS, SAILORS, MARINES AND AIRMAN PARTICIPATED.  THE WEATHER COOPERATED AND HELPED MAKE THIS EVENT A REAL WINNER. CONGRATS TO COL STEVE DEPYSSLER, USAF (RET) FOR THE TREMENDOUS EFFORT HE PUT FORTH IN MAKING IT A SUCCESS. THIS SATURDAY FROM 3 TO 5 PM, THEIR WILL BE 441 FLAGS ON DISPLAY AT THE BOSSIER CIVIC CENTER INCLUDING THOSE FROM THE PARADE. THE FLAGS WILL BE DISPLAYED FULL LENGTH AND IDENTIFIED FOR PICTURE TAKING AND SEEING. THIS IS THE LARGEST COLLECTION AND VIEWING OF OUR NATIONS FLAGS AND THE FLAGS OFALMOST EVERY NATION IN THE WORLD.
