One of the top needs that I hear about from veterans across Louisiana is the need to improve VA healthcare.

Historically, the VA’s healthcare budget has been delivered late and appropriations levels have often been too low.  

To address this challenge I recently coauthored the Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency  Act, or the VA advance funding bill.  This bill would allow funding for veterans health care to be appropriated two years in advance. 

This bill would secure timely funding for veterans healthcare and allow the VA to plan better for things like the significant growth in demand for services as our service members return from combat theaters in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Please rest assured I’ll continue fighting for this and other measure to make sure that all our veterans of past and current conflicts have the resources they need.
