Patriots,
Our Legislative Endeavor for this year (2013-14) will be to have “Purple Heart Day” made into a law for the State of Louisiana.  I have a sponsor for the bill. Representative John Bel-Edwards. John is an x-Army Ranger and has been very helpful with all our past legislation. The bill will read as follows:
“The seventh day of August, to be known as Purple Heart Recognition Day, shall be observed in the State as a working holiday. Purple Heart Day is dedicated to the Remembrance and Recognition of those members of the armed forces of the United States who have earned the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in combat.”
Please contact your local Representative to support this bill in the upcoming legislative year. I will keep you posted when the bill is assigned a number.
Hopefully, this will give Purple Heart the recognition it deserves.

Rick O’Brien
